My Story

Across my work, I am drawn to the relationship between structure and chaos. Whether exploring mythology, urban environments, social commentary, or symbolic narratives, I am interested in the ways people create meaning within complex systems. Repetition, pathways, interconnected forms, and layered symbols often appear throughout my paintings as I search for patterns beneath the surface of everyday life.

As the daughter of Iranian parents, raised in Sweden, shaped by years living in London, and now based in Hawaii, I have experienced the world through multiple cultural lenses. While my work is not strictly autobiographical, these experiences inform my perspective and my fascination with identity, belonging, cultural memory, and human connection.

Many of my projects take the form of distinct series, each with its own visual language and conceptual foundation. Each collection begins with a question, a concept, or an observation that feels important to explore, and the paintings emerge as a visual investigation of that theme. From reimagining Persian mythology to examining social systems, cities, and symbolic structures in other collections, I use painting as a way to navigate complexity and uncover relationships between ideas.

Ultimately, my work is an invitation to look closer. What may first appear as a simple image often contains layers of symbolism, pattern, and narrative designed to reward curiosity and reflection. Through color, form, and storytelling, I seek to create works that are visually engaging while encouraging viewers to discover their own connections and interpretations.
