Flats are the moments when the apparent chaos of city life reveals order.
Blå City

The title comes from the Swedish word for blue, reflecting the palette that defines the mood of the piece. Blå City was inspired by observing cities as living systems, where countless individual structures combine to create something larger and more interconnected. The cooler tones allowed me to focus on the quieter side of urban life, where patterns and relationships emerge from density and repetition.
At first glance it appears crowded and complex, but with time the composition reveals balance and rhythm. I enjoy the idea of viewers finding their own pathways through the city and uncovering details that may have been missed at first.
The flattened perspective removes the distractions of realism and emphasizes the patterns hidden within the cityscape. By limiting the palette to shades of blue and grey, I was able to focus attention on structure, repetition, and the relationships between forms.

A window catches the light. A traffic signal changes. Someone disappears through a doorway. Another person appears from somewhere else. Life happens behind walls, between buildings and above the street, mostly unnoticed by everyone else.
Grön City takes its name from its palette, but green also felt fitting for a city that is constantly changing and growing. New structures appear, old ones disappear, and the spaces between them continue to fill with movement.
Nothing in a city exists entirely on its own.

Using acrylics, I built layers of shapes that celebrate both structure and rhythm, capturing the bustle and harmony of a thriving metropolis. This piece radiates a dynamic, lively spirit that will spark vibrancy and warmth wherever it’s displayed.
